Cape Meares Historical Oregon Lighthouse

The Cape Meares lighthouse is at the north end of the beautiful Three Capes Scenic Route.  Located approximately 10 miles west of Tillamook at  Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint. This lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Care Meares lighthouse was built in 1890 and served as the lighthouse station for Tillamook Bay.  In 1963 the lighthouse was deactivated and replaced by a newer tower and then in 1968 It was turned over to Oregon State Parks Dept.

The light house is open April 15- Oct 1st 11am- 4:00pm and the park is open daily, throughout the year, from 7 am to dusk with no day use fee. There are  several hiking trails located at the viewpoint along with amazing ocean views and a great location for whale watching.
